M.A.E.D./Curriculum and Instruction

The specialization of this program is an online graduate education degree for bachelor-prepared individuals currently teaching in a P-12 classroom environment who want to develop and enhance their curriculum and instruction repertoire for the purposes of increasing student learning.

This program contains the study of curricular planning and development with an integration of technology, strategies for effective classroom instruction for a variety of learners, assessment and evaluation practices, and critical issues within the field of education.

This course provides a foundation for understanding and analyzing curriculum and instruction theories and philosophies. The key courses of this program will explore the development of strategies for linking standards-based education to classroom curriculum and the creating standards-based performance assessment tasks for classrooms.

The students of this course can apply procedures for evaluating and recommend strategies for improving the quality and effectiveness of curriculum and instruction.
