Associate of Science Sonography

Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and by the Seventh-day Adventist Board of Regents. Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences prepares students for professional careers at Florida Hospital and similar healthcare institutions. Students are educated in the spiritual, professional and technical aspects of healthcare.

Sonography, is also known as ultrasound. It uses high-frequency sound waves to visualize the anatomy and physiology of the body, providing physicians with important information used to diagnose disease. This college provides an environment where students may develop expertise in the fields of general and cardiovascular ultrasound integrated with Christian values. Students study the clinical aspects of medical sonography, learn to use ultrasound equipment and participate in various supervised sonographic procedures.

Studies performed by sonographers include examination:

• organs in the abdomen
  1. liver
  2. gallbladder
  3. pancreas
  4. kidneys
• superficial structures
• female reproductive organs
• the fetus
• heart
• vascular structures.
