Bachelor of Science in Accounting

CTU Online designed the online BS in Accounting which prepares students with an understanding of corporate accounting, governmental and not-for-profit accounting, taxation, and auditing.

The curriculum is focused on developing critical problem-solving skills in accounting and management, also it develops the students ability to prepare, comprehend and interpret the required financial statements according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Courses included in BS with Accounting are:

• Accounting (I, II and III)
• Tax Accounting (I and II)
• Cost Accounting
• Financial Management Principles
• Auditing
• Business Decision Making

Professional Certificates are included in this degree. Students can earn five Professional Certificates throughout this degree without adding any courses or additional cost. BS in Accounting degree includes the following certificates:

• Decision-Making in Operations
• Basics of Accounting and Accounting
• Financial Accounting
• Income Tax
• Financial Statement Analysis

Students with no prior college or military training can complete this degree in 2 1/2 years. Students with prior college credit, military experience or an Associate's Degree may be eligible for the CTU Online Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program. In some cases, this may shorten to 15 months.

Students completing this course can pursue careers as general accountants, budget analysts, controllers, loan officers, personal financial advisors, and many others.
