In partnership with National Institute of Corrections (NIC), Bellevue University designed the B.S. in Corrections Administration and Management for corrections professionals to enhance their management and leadership skills and methods that are needed to make the modem correctional organization as efficient and effective as possible.

By this online degree students will gain the effective correctional practice skills, communication skills, analytical skills, leadership skills and knowledge to effectively compete in a wide variety of leadership positions in virtually any correctional organization.

Graduates completing this course are eligible for posts such as: CEO, warden, agency directors & deputy directors, correctional executive, and corrections supervisor.

Bellevue University takes a variety of assignments and techniques to make an active learning that will promote critical thinking and direct application of course material.

Some of the examples of assignments and techniques are as follows:

  • Formal and informal presentations of case studies, ethical dilemmas, and some other assignments that help students to develop their oral and written communication skills, critical thinking skills, research skills, and teamwork skills.
  • Group discussion, cooperative projects, simulation, case studies, modeling, and debate to reflect on the correctional organization manager/leaders' role in planning, controlling, organizing, and leading.
  • Final main project that will integrate all aspects of the program and apply all the knowledge gain through the course to improve/enhance a process in the organization.
