This course helps students to examines the economic, business, and financial forces driving the biotechnology industry, especially those faced by start-up and growing companies.

This course is focused on the high-growth commercial areas of biotech, nanotech, and medicine.

By this course students will develop a broad understanding of the biotech industry, including its competitive and regulatory landscape, the planning challenges it faces in an uncertain future, the financial and economic issues driving long-term cost-benefit analysis as well as day-to-day business decisions, and the unique roles that marketing/sales and research and development play in biotech firms.
